Machu Picchu
Day 1 : Cusco, Santa Teresa
We pick you up from your hotel at 8:00 am to catch a bus that goes from Cusco and pass through Santa Maria to arrive in Santa Teresa at around 2pm. On arriving in Santa Teresa we settle in a hotel and then have lunch. In the afternoon you can relax or get to know the town. In the evening we will visit the hot springs of Cocalmayo (optional) and return to Santa Teresa for dinner.
Day 2: Santa Teresa, the Hydroelectric Dam and Aguas Calientes
At 8:00am we have breakfast, get ready and set out for the Hydroelectric dam by bus at around 9:00am. At the dam we prepare to hike along the railway which takes approximately 2 and a half hours. Along the way we will see wide variety of flora and fauna, as well as some waterfalls, After a quiet walk we reach Aguas Calientes, where we will arrange for accommodations at a hotel. After a short break at 1:30 we have lunch. The rest of the afternoon is free time and one can visit the thermal baths (optional).
Day 3: Aguas Calientes, Cusco
This day is very special because we will visit one of the most beautiful and famous places in the world. We get up early to have breakfast and then board a bus to arrive to Machu Picchu. Upon entrance we begin a guided tour for 2 hours with a bilingual guide. After the tour you will have free time to take photographs and explore. It is advisable to climb Huayna Picchu. To do so it is necessary to have purchased a ticket to this mountain prior (not included in the tour). At around 2 we board our bus back to Aguas Calientes to have lunch. In the evening we board the train to Ollantaytambo and from there return to Cusco.
